Currently, University of Applied Sciences Offenburg is involved in several scientific projects and among them are:
- International Quality Network
Nano Particles and biological Particles IQN NaBiPa
IQN NaBiPa is one of 33 projects within Germany which is funded by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) through its prestigious IQN program. The DAAD focuses on the most successful German universities and enhances their standing amongst international institutes of higher education and research. The NaBiPa project at the Hochschule Offenburg, University of Applied Sciences, concentrates on the generation, separation, and analysis of particles of various technical and biological interests.
Leading international researchers meet regularly in Offenburg for workshops to present and discuss their latest scientific results. Highly qualified scientists, PhD and Master Students of the eleven international partner institutions do research in the NaBiPa labs of Hochschule Offenburg. Heads of the research groups are Prof. Dr. Richard Zahoransky and Dr. Dale Henneke, Postdoc from the University of Texas at Austin/USA.
- The Institute for Applied Research
The Institute for Applied Research (IAR, or IAF in German) was founded in 1986 to facilitate practice-oriented research and studies at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences. It works closely with the industry, which ensures that the University keeps up with the cutting-edge technologies in the area.
The various departments focus their activities on the research in the area of automation, measurement and sensor technologies.
Recently the Institute has established cooperation with other German and foreign research institutions, which even stronger signifies the growing need and practical importance of cross-country cooperation.
